I hang out in one of the FARK forums. To quote someone else's description, "It's sort of social…demented and sad, but social."
Anyway, one of the other people that posts there is a reporter for a Kansas City television station. I may have posted a picture of me enjoying the R2D2 mailbox outside the office building I work in. Apparently, this struck some sort of geek chord with Ms. Koppelman to file a story. The picture below is linked to it.
So I finally got around to uploading pictures. Many pictures.
The ones on Abe's site include playing in the snow and snapshots right after he got his tooth pulled.
The ones on Leo's site include some very nice smiles.
The ones on this site include some more Guitar Hero action and a few shots of the family.
Yes, I am a tremendous geek.
Someday, I'll have the time and the money to go to the South by Southwest (SXSW) Festival .
At the link above, you can browse through the myriad of performers and listen to songs from most of them. I did this last year and found some gems .
This year is no different.
Carolyn Mark is the artist partially pictured above. Her song, "Fireworks " is featured on her SXSW page (one of the best artist stories I've read in a while). Any song that starts off with the lyrics "You're dumb when you're drunk. Yeah, you heard me right." is bound for my play list.
I also stumbled upon a track entitled "Westboro Baptist Church ". This song is now going to be my standard response when anyone talks about the Religious Right. Thank you I Can Lick Any Sonofabitch in the House
I have about 150 more artists to sort through.
I haven't posted anything in a while.
My life is rolling along. The boys are healthy. Spring is coming. And, Daylight Savings wasn't too much of a pain.
I have a bunch of pictures I need to upload to Abe and Leo's sites. I did not inherit the attention to archival detail that my grandfather possessed.
I'm excited that baseball season is nearing. I promised myself that I wouldn't attempt to keep three fantasy baseball teams afloat this year. I think that may be a smart decision.
So far, I have $166.70 accumulated on MTURK. I think I'm going to set my sights on a 32" monitor instead of a Wii.
This is all rambles.
